Smart eyewear to protect from harmful light in real time
EpiBlink combines AI technology and adaptive optics to help people navigate everyday environments safely when lighting becomes harmful.
Light sensitivity can make everyday life unpredictable
Millions of people experience serious symptoms when exposed to certain types of light – such as flashing lights, bright screens, or specific wavelengths.
This can trigger:
X Migraines
X Epileptic seizures
X Sensory overload (autism, ADHD)
X Chronic photophobia
For many, this means constantly managing risk in environments that others take for granted.
How It Works
EpiBlink is currently in development; testing early prototypes and is designed to operate in three stages:
Detect
EpiBlink uses embedded sensors to monitor environmental light – detecting intensity, flicker, and specific wavelengths that may trigger symptoms.
Analyse
Assess risk in real time. AI models process incoming light data to determine whether conditions could be harmful to the wearer.
Adapt
Adjust lenses automatically. The lenses are designed to dynamically respond – reducing harmful exposure while maintaining clear vision.
